I recently moved to Florida and I need to change my vehicle registration, what is the minimum coverage required in the state of Florida?
Florida law requires you to carry at least:
Personal injury protection (PIP) 10,000
Property Damage 10,000
If you are considering a policy to just satisfy the state requirements, it is very important to discuss all of the other coverage options available and their benefits before you make a decision. Ask your agent to explain in detail all of the coverages available, such as Bodily injury liability, uninsured motorist, medical payments, extended pip, collision, comprehensive, towing and rental reimbursement. A professional agent will take the time and explain all of your options before you make your final decision.
NOTE: The answers to coverage questions are primarily based on ISO forms generally used in Florida by most companies. However, please keep in mind that all companies forms are NOT necessarily the same. Some companies may provide broader coverage and some may be more restrictive. IN ALL CASES, THE CONSUMER MUST REFER TO HIS OR HER OWN POLICY FOR SPECIFIC COVERAGE INFORMATION.
