I drive a pickup truck. Do I need a commercial auto policy?
How you use your truck would determine if it should be insured as a commercial vehicle. If your vehicle is used for you or your families normal daily use, meaning you are not conducting business or use it during the course of your business, most likely you will be able to choose a personal auto policy.
Some activities, such as delivering pizzas, news papers or other products, which maybe excluded in personal auto policies. Another consideration is who is riding with you such as clients or co-workers. Companies may differ in how they define commercial and personal auto policies, so make sure to check your policy for details about what is and isnt covered. Your Hoffman & Associate independent insurance agent would be able to assist you in determining the type of coverage that is right for you and your vehicle use.
NOTE: The answers to coverage questions are primarily based on ISO forms generally used in Florida by most companies. However, please keep in mind that all companies forms are NOT necessarily the same. Some companies may provide broader coverage and some may be more restrictive. IN ALL CASES, THE CONSUMER MUST REFER TO HIS OR HER OWN POLICY FOR SPECIFIC COVERAGE INFORMATION.
